Instructor for voices (choir and soloists)
Massimo Altieri was born in Rovigo in 1984 and graduated in Classical Guitar in 2004 at the Conservatory of Bologna.
In the same year he began his approach to singing, under the guidance of Marco Scavazza and Vittorio Zanon.
He has been active since 2007 with important national and international ensembles in the practice and diffusion of the early vocal repertoire including:
Accademia Bizantina (Ottavio Dantone), Il Canto di Orfeo (Gianluca Capuano), Cantarlontano (Marco Mencoboni), La Compagnia del Madrigale (Giuseppe Maletto), De Labiryntho (Walter Testolin) , Odhecaton (Paolo da Col), La Venexiana (Davide Pozzi), Coro RSI / I Barocchisti (Diego Fasolis), La Fonte Musica (Michele Pasotti), Nova Ars Cantandi (Giovanni Acciai), Accademia d’Arcadia (Alessandra Rossi-Lürig), RecreationBAROCK (Graz Festival, Marco Vitale), I Disinvolti (with Massimo Lombardi and Guglielmo Buonsanti).
He is a former member of the ensemble RossoPorpora (directed by Walter Testolin), with whom he has recently recorded an album dedicated to Luca Marenzio, published with Arcana (Outhere) and a collection dedicated to Biagio Marini.
He is part of the Coro RSI / I Barocchisti (Radio and Television of Italian Switzerland) since 2013.
In this formation he took part in the European tour of “Norma” started in 2013 in Salzburg and ended, at the time, in 2016.
He debuted in September 2016 as soloist in “Vespro della Beata Vergine” by Claudio Monteverdi, at the “Vicenza in Lirica” festival directed by Francesco Erle.
In the end of 2016, he recorded for Archiv (Deutsche Grammophon) the integral of the Contrafacta (Monteverdi / Coppini) with the “Nova Ars Cantandi” group under the guidance of Giovanni Acciai.
He recently took part in the European tour of “La Cenerentola” by Gioacchino Rossini with the new group “Les Musiciens du Prince” (artistic direction by Cecilia Bartoli, conductor Gianluca Capuano)): the project is still active and in development.
In May 2017 he debuted in the trilogy of Monteverdi opera-works in the roles of: Pastore Secondo / Spirito (L’Orfeo), Soldato Secondo / Famigliare di Seneca (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Giove / Eumete (Il Ritorno di Ulisse in Patria) at the festival of early music in Schwetzingen with “La Venexiana” under the direction of Davide Pozzi.
In the same year, he made his debut (under the direction of Marco Berrini) with the FORM (Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana) in the “Requiem” by W. A. Mozart as solo tenor. With the same group in November 2018 he made his debut in “The Messiah” by G. F. Händel at the Goldoni Theater in Livorno.
Scheduled for 2021, the publication of the integral works of Zacara da Teramo with La Fonte Musica (Michele Pasotti) in a so far unprecedented and very welcome cooperation in the field of medieval music.
As the 2020 has been an intense year for recordings, in 2021 other recordings will see the light: with Marco Mencoboni, “L’uomo in Bivio” an oratorio by Antonio Giannettini (Glossa), with Massimo Lombardi a Vesper by Giovanni Antonio Rigatti (Arcana), with Giuseppe Maletto, Walter Testolin and Paolo da Col three different recordings on Josquin Desprez.
In November 2021, under Ottavio Dantone – Accademia Bizantina, he will be Pastore Primo in Monteverdi’s “L’Orfeo” at Teatro “Alighieri” in Ravenna.
